My introduction to ska was middle school via Christian ska bands like Five Iron Frenzy and OC Supertones. MU330 were from my city (St Louis) and even though I never listened to them I used to use that as a bragging point. Though our "big breakout" was The Urge which got radio play alongside 311. The main guy from the Urge runs a popular hotdog chain now.

I heard the Blue Meanies through my skater-stoner step-brother's punk sampler CD.

DD/MM/YYYY played a show with Don Caballero and Sbach(!) in Long Beach on Valentines Day and the trombone player from Reel Big Fish walked up to Moshe in the washroom, made eye contact with him and blankly said "I'm gonna kill you tonight." I'd never seem Moshe so scared as he ran through the crowd to hide behind me as this dude chased after him like a frikkin serial killer.
